Di Holdsworth is an artist living in the Blue Mountains, Australia. Her current works are in the medium of kinetic assemblage and are automated by hand-made mechanics and music-box movements. She explores narratives of mythology, fairy-tale, pop culture and history to develop themes of desire, innocence, darkness and wonder.
Her delicate sculptures recreate our first experiences of clockwork and wind-up objects, with their freaky-fascinating movements, their parody of human mechanics, their unnerving foreshadowing of adult desires and relationships.
